Ashe Baptist Association Office and Ashe Really Cares will be closed to observe Memorial Day on Monday, May 28th.

Lansing Community Fellowship Church, Welcomes you to hear, pastor is Rev. Joe Riley Blevins who has pastored nine Southern Baptist Churches in his lifetime; they were accepted to be in the Ashe Baptist Association by the Executive Committee and to be placed under the watch care for a year. The Committee on new churches will work and visit with them this year and give a report at the Annual Meeting 2019. We look forward to working with them.


When you pray please remember Phoenix Baptist Church, Buffalo Baptist Church, Bristol Baptist Church and Grassy Creek Baptist Church.  They are currently in search of a pastor for the church.



At the 11:00 service on Sunday,  May 20th., North Beaver Baptist Church will be starting their Spring Revival. Services  will be starting on Sunday,  May 20th. and continuing through Wednesday,  May 23rd. The Nightly Services start at 7:00 Pm.,  the  guest speaker  for our Spring Revival will be  Pastor Gary Jennings, Former Pastor of  East Taylorsville Baptist Church. North Beaver Baptist Church  is located on  Hwy 163 (next to Dr. Pepper Bottling plant ) Pastor Rick Miller and the congregation invite you to Come join us for our Spring  Revival.

Friendship Baptist Church announces DOM David Blackburn will be the speaker oin Sunday May 27th at 10:00 Worship Hour. They have Sunday School at 9:00. Rev. Russell Hart and the congregation invite everyone to attend.


Orion Baptist Church will be having its Vacation Bible School June 24th to 27th.  There will be a kick-off cookout on June 24th at 5:00 PM.  The other evenings Bible School will begin at 5:30 and conclude at 8:30.  All are welcome.  For more information contact Pastor Steve Allen at 828-266-8484. 

Security for Churches---- On Thursday, May 10th Captain Chris Eldreth from the Ashe County Sheriff’s Department, Greg Topczewski retired from Chicago Police Department and Chaplin at Ashe County Sheriff’s Department, Rick Dent retired from the FBI, John Weaver deputy from the Ashe County Sheriff’s Department and retired EMT, Bobby Shearon retired School Principal and I met to put together a presentation for all Ashe County Churches to form  a “Safety Committee”. After much discussion the following is the agenda for the meeting for the pastors and up to 2 folks from each church who are interested in a “Safety Team at the Church.”

We welcome Chris and Andrea Finney new owners of Statewide Insurance Solutions of Jefferson. They are one of our four sponsors for Ashe Baptist News each Saturday at 9:10 on WKSK.. They are Christians and attend New Creations Church in Jefferson. Come by and say hello as they are new to the county. We look forward to working with them.


The Ashe Baptist Association is pleased to announce: Mrs. Myra Phillips is the new administrative assistance at Ashe Baptist Association Office. She has also been elected as the new treasurer. We welcome Myra and look forward to working with her. She and her husband David are members at Bald Mountain Baptist Church. She will be starting on Monday, April 30.


The Ashe Baptist Association is planning a fall trip, September 26-29; departing on Wednesday and returning on Saturday.

​Congratulations to the following for being recognized at the 33rd  Ashe County Commissioners Volunteer Awards Ceremony; Bald Mountain Baptist Church Senior Encouragers, Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church Youth Group, Geraldine Reed& Cheryl Hicks of the Warrensville Baptist Church, several individuals from the churches, and several senior Nominees from the churches. Congratulations to all the recipients. Where would we be without all our volunteers! Thank you for your work to make Ashe County a better place to live.

Church Announcements


Scheduled to mow and check the Baptist Campground is North Beaver Church the last part of the month. First part of June is Welcome Home Baptist Church. Thank you churches for keeping the campground moving forward. New security lights have been installed. New lights at the Amphitheater have been installed. Warrensville Baptist Church men are going to be working on the Prayer Garden. 


Pine Swamp Baptist Church announces Revival on May 20-23 at 7:00 with Brother Randy Peters speaking. ​Welcome Home Baptist Church would like to invite everyone to their Vacation Bible School this year, Shipwrecked: Rescued By Jesus!
