​​The Annual Ashe Baptist Association Christmas Dinner for Ministers, wife, family and staff was held at Friendship Baptist Church Family Life Center on Thursday, December 6 beginning at 6:30. It was a time to relax, enjoy a meal by Smokey Mountain BBQ (paid for by Virginia Carolina Concrete Company  (thank you, Mr.Ted Huffman, Mr. Teddy Jr Huffman and Mr. Adam Huffman)), meet other workers in the field, sing Christmas Carols, hear special singing (Rev. Lawrence White), hear the Christmas Story read from the Bible, and if you have been good perhaps a Christmas gift for you.Thank you to all who attended.

Phoenix Baptist Church announces speaker for all of December is Rev, Ken Furches The congregation invite you to attend. Sunday School at 10 and Worship at 11.

Christian Unity Baptist Church announces Christmas Play, From Humble Beginnings to a Reigning King.  Sunday December 23 at 6:00 pm. Refreshments to follow the program.  Pastor Michael Carter and the congregation invite everyone to the program! 

The Appalachian Church invites you to be their guest On Sunday December 23rd, they will have two worship gatherings for you to choose from! Worship at 10:00am and 6:00pm. “Emmanuel God with us” you will experience the same worship music, same message and there will be a candlelight communion at each worship gathering as well. Pastor Steve Ashley and the congregation welcomes you to attend.

Looms first ladies Bible Study of the new year will begin class on January 10, 2019 and the following Thursdays at 11:30 at the Association Office.  We will be doing Priscilla Shirer Bible Study "Fervent", a hands-on, knees-down, never-give-up action guide to practical, purposeful praying.  This will be a woman's battle plan for serious, specific and strategic prayer.  Is there a lady out there that might need this?   Saturday morning January 12, 2019 will be a special time for the Looms so ladies save this morning.  Much more information to come.  Please plan to attend.  Don't let the enemy talk you out of it. Linda Blackburn will be your facilitator. 

The Ashe Really Cares Committee will meet for its quarterly meeting on Tuesday, January 8 at 7:00 at the Ashe Baptist Association Conference Room. All committee members and interested folks are urged to attend.

The Executive Committee of the Ashe Baptist Association will meet for its quarterly meeting on Thursday, January 10 at 7:00 at the Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church.  All committee members, pastors and interested folks are urged to attend. Need host for Annual Meeting on Friday, August 16. Thank you to Big Flatts Baptist Church who will host on Saturday.

All are Christians and active in the church they attend.They welcome you when you find yourself in need of their services.

The International Mission Board (IMB)  Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is taken during December each year..  What you will see within the Christmas Offering material is "Every church. Every nation." This is the overall message for IMB, believing that every church has a role to play in reaching every nation. I hope that the church you attend will give to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering that goes 100% to Southern Baptist Foreign Missionaries and study about those missionaries and pray for them.

The Ashe County Children’s Christmas Project Team would like to thank everyone for your help with this project. This week over 8,500 gifts were wrapped. Thank you, wrappers, and those who moved the gifts to the storage room. Thank you for those who bought gifts for the children and those of you who gave money to help the program. 850 folks were served.We also received 500 Back Packs to be given out to our 4 to 14 year old children along with their gifts, It takes all of us to make this happen and we all appreciate it very much. Our churches, businesses, industry and individuals are wonderful. There are a lot of good people in Ashe County who want to help others. Merry Christmas from the Christmas Project of Ashe County.

Buffalo Baptist Church is pleased to announces the Rev. Tom Graybeal is the new pastor and was elected by 100%. We welcome Brother Tom and his wife Mary to the Ashe Baptist Association in the new role. They are already on the field at work. Be praying for them as they work in that area.
