Ashe Really Cares thanks everyone for their support and volunteerism. They have a new email address: The ARC is making a difference in the life of Ashe County People. Pat Miller the Director at ARC thanks everyone! Ashe Really Cares is in need a few good men! We need men to be able to pick food for the ARC on M-F for 45 minutes.  Once a week or once a month or on call. Also a few good women are needed to sort clothes .Contact Pat if interested at 336-846-5631. Ashe Really Cares is located at 204 Beaver Creek School Road in West Jefferson just pasted Ingles Food Store. 

Appalachian Church was approved by the Executive Committee to be a church in the Ashe Baptist Association. There pastor is Rev. Steve Ashely. They will be placed under the watch care for a year and the Committee on New Churches will make a recommendation next year at the Annual Meeting for full membership. We look forward to working with them and welcome them to Ashe Baptist Association. 

Lansing Community Fellowship Church, Welcomes you to hear, pastor is Rev. Joe Riley Blevins who has pastored nine Southern Baptist Churches in his lifetime; they were accepted to be in the Ashe Baptist Association by the Executive Committee and to be placed under the watch care for a year. The Committee on new churches will work and visit with them this year and give a report at the Annual Meeting 2019. We look forward to working with them.

When you pray please remember Pleasant Valley Baptist Church,  Laurel Knob Baptist Church, Little Helton Baptist Church, Phoenix Baptist Church, Buffalo Baptist Church, Bristol Baptist Church and Grassy Creek Baptist Church. They are currently in search of a pastor for the church.          

Christian Unity Baptist Church announces VBS at on July 15-19 beginning at 5:30 with a light supper and classes at 6:30 – 8:30. Call 246-7907 for more info.. Fire Fighter is the theme .Pastor, Rev. Michael Carter welcomes everyone.

Phoenix Baptist Church announces speaker 22nd Gideon Speaker, 29th Rev. Jeff Dollar,  August 5th Rev. Rick Hurley, 12th and 19th Rev. Neil Hatfield. 

Buffalo Baptist Church announces the following speakers for , 22st Rev. Chip Richie, 29th Rev. Alan Ambrose. They have worship at 11:00 and Sunday School at 10:00. The congregation invite everyone to attend.

Mission Home Baptist Church announces Prayer Conference with Rev. Chris Scofield from the Baptist Sate Convention of NC on August 3-4-5 beginning at 6:30 on Friday and Saturday and will be sharing at Sunday School at 10:00 and Worship at 11:00 on Sunday. Rev. Lawrence Goodman invites everyone to attend/.

Healing Springs Baptist Church announces Decoration on Sunday, August 5th beginning at 10:00. There will be a short service at 10:30 in the cemetery. Regular Worship Service will be held in the church at 11:00. Pastor, Rev. Kevin Jones invites you at attend.

​Special Announcements

The Annual Church Profiles were mailed to the clerks of each church in the Ashe Baptist Association this week. Please try to have them by to us by the 20th of July to insure that they will be entered into the Ashe Baptist Book of Reports, the Ashe Baptist Minute  Book, North Carolina Baptist State Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention.. If you need any help filling it out please give us a call. If makes me sad when beside a churches name it says “no report”. If you would like minute books for the church you attend  write the number on the back page of the ACP  or call the office at 846-5631

Tour with Ashe Baptist--An update to the tour information we have been advertising.  In shopping around, we have found a much lower price for our trip to Lancaster, PA! This price can’t be beat!!  $449.00 per person for a four-day, three-night trip, leaving Ashe County on Wednesday, September 19 and returning on Saturday, Sept 22. 

Highlights of this trip will include reserved seats to see Jesus at the Sight and Sound Theater with amazing special effects, a cast of hundreds, live animals, and inspiring music and reserved admission to the brand new, state of the art,  Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC: over 430,000 sq ft of the world’s greatest collection of artifacts, exhibits, and dioramas.   Also included in the Lancaster area: a  guided tour of the Amish farmlands with a local “step-on” Mennonite tour guide, a Farmer’s market visit, Kitchen Kettle Craft Village,  and  lunch at an Amish home. In the DC area, we will have a driving tour of Washington; seeing the White House, US Capitol, and Washington Monument with stops at the at inspiring WWII, Vietnam, and Lincoln Memorials. We will travel through the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and stop at the Gettysburg National Military Park to see where President Lincoln made his famous “Gettysburg Address”.Names are being taken and placed “On Call” if someone is not able to go they would take their place. The bus is full at this time.

If you are a Committee Chair in the Ashe Baptist Association we are ready to receive your yearly report. Please sent to us as soon as possible to be entered into the Book of Reports and Minute Book.

We welcome Chris and Andrea Finney new owners of Statewide Insurance Solutions of Jefferson. They are one of our four sponsors for Ashe Baptist News each Saturday at 9:10 on WKSK.. They are Christians and attend New Creations Church in Jefferson. Come by and say hello as they are new to the county. We look forward to working with them.


Church Announcements

Scheduled to mow and check the Baptist Campground  On the week of the 28thWarrensville Baptist Church is scheduled to mow the campground. On August 11 Friendship Baptist is scheduled to mow. Thank you churches for keeping the campground moving forward! New security lights have been installed. New lights at the Amphitheater have been installed. Warrensville Baptist Church men are going to be working on the Prayer Garden. 

Beaver Creek Baptist Church will be having Homecoming Services Sunday, July 22nd along with a Dedication Service for our new Fellowship Hall. Jonathan Stansberry will be our speaker, we will have special singing, and a meal will follow (we have to enjoy that fellowship hall as often as we can!) Our services will begin at 10:30am.  Johnny Goodman and the congregation invite everyone to attend. Our VBS will be July 27 - 29th.  Come and join the Jungle River Adventure! Friday we will start at 5:30 with a meal then have class/crafts until 8:30 Saturday we will start at 10:00am and end around 3:00pm Sunday we will have a class at 10:00am with commencement service starting at 11:00am.  A cookout with follow.  We will have waterslides so bring clothes to get wet!

This is not just for kids.....we will have an adult class also.  So everyone make plans to join us. Rev. Johnny Goodman is the pastor and welcomes everyone.

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church announces Homecoming and Decoration on Sunday, July 29th beginning at 10:00 with Decoration and Worship and Singing at 10:30. Singing will be Carlene Green Family, Speaking will be Rev. Tim Roten  All members, former members and friends are invite to attend. There will be a Fellowship Meal after the service. Folks are invited to come and see the New Fellowship Hall. Rev. Roger Blevins welcomes you to attend.
