Obids Baptist Church will be holding revival September 27-29 with Rev. Allen Huffman as the guest speaker.  There will be special singing each night.  We welcome everyone to attend by the congregation and Pastor, Rev. Mark Harless

Phoenix Baptist Church announces following speakers;Sept-:30 Rev. Rex Eldreth. They have Sunday School at 10:00 and Worship at 11:00. The congregation invites everyone to attend.    


Friendship Baptist Church announces; “An Indestructible Joy” on October 13 and includes lunch beginnings at 9:00 until 4:00PM. Beth Greer will be one of the speakers and Teresa Allen a comedian speaker will be there to share with you. Warrensville Baptist Church announces 18th Annual Homecoming on Sunday, October 7 with Sunday School at 9:00 and Worship at 10:00. Christian Unity Baptist Church announces Team Jacob Fun Carnival, Saturday, September 29 from1-6 PM. Games, cakewalk, food, music, face painting, and much more! All proceeds go to benefit Jacob Brown 11 year old cancer patient and great grandson of Paul and Patsy Brown. Rev. Michael Carter pastor invites everyone to attend.

​Mission Home Baptist Church
 announces that they will be having Revival services September 23-26. Neal Hatfield will be the special speaker; services begin at 11 am on Sunday, and continue at 6:30 Sunday evening through Wednesday. Pastor Lawrence Goodman invites everyone to attend.

5th Sunday Singing at Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church in Jefferson will be Sunday, Sept. 30 at 6:00. Servant Voices will be with us and they will have the entire service. Fellowship will follow the service. Pastor Doug , Pastor Cory and Brother Elbert Graybeal as well as the congregation will be looking for you. All are welcome to this special singing.


Special Announcements;

· Ashe Friends of Youth Program
through Communities In Schools of North Carolina needs volunteers to work with Ashe County Middle School Students. The Friends of Youth Program is an out of school mentoring program where an adult who has undergone training and background screening meets with an ACMS student for about 2 hours a week outside the school day.

· The Success Skills Mentoring Program involves an adult meeting about 20 minutes a week with an ACMS student helping them with life skills and often basic reading or math skills. This volunteer also goes through a criminal background check and is trained. He or she will meet with their matched student once a week in the library or conference room to help their student with success skills.

Church Announcements;


Response to Hurricane Florence

 There will be an Emergency Food Drive through October 8th to support the Kennedy Baptist Children’s Home in Kinston, North Carolina, and other Baptist Children Homes Camps affected by flood waters. The children were moved safely to Thomasville but the food and supplies were destroyed by flood waters. We are asking churches to collect food products and gift cards for grocery stores. Please bring to the association office, Ashe Really Cares by noon on Friday, October 5th. We will transport the food on Monday, October 8th. Non-perishable/non-refrigerated foods (that children like), canned pastas and meats, cereals, snack foods, canned vegetables, soups, pasta and canned pasta sauce are needed.  Cleaning supplies. Gift cards from Food Lion and Walmart.  Funds for cleanup and restoration will be biggest need.--


Scheduled to mow and check the Baptist Campground September 23-29 Mission Home Baptist Church is scheduled to mow  and October 8 - 13 Beaver Creek Baptist Church is schedule to mow. Thank you churches for keeping the campground moving forward. 

 Ashe Really Cares will be holding their volunteer appreciation dinner on Tuesday, October 16th at 6:00 pm.  The dinner will be held in the church fellowship hall of Friendly Grove Baptist Church on Buck Mtn Rd in West Jefferson.  The dinner is potluck, so come out and bring your favorite dishes to share. We want to thank all of the volunteers who give of thier time to help hurting families in Ashe County. ​​Ashe Really Cares thanks everyone for their support and volunteerism. They have a new email address: ashereallycares@gmail.com The ARC is making a difference in the life of Ashe County People. Pat Miller the Director at ARC thanks everyone! Ashe Really Cares is in need a few good men! We need men to be able to pick food for the ARC on M-F for 45 minutes..Contact Pat if interested at 336-846-5631. Ashe Really Cares is located at 204 Beaver Creek School Road in West Jefferson just pasted Ingles Food Store. Also at the ARC they will be hosting a representative from United Heal Care on Thursday September 20 and 27 from 10:00 -11:00. They will be here to help individuals who have both Medicare and Medicaid. They have programs that help individuals with medical supplies and some medication.  
The Ashe Really Cares Quarterly Meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 2 @ 7:00 PM at the Ashe Baptist Conference Room. All Committee Members and interested folks are urged to attend.   
The Executive Committee of the Ashe Baptist Association will be meeting on Thursday, October 4 at 7:00 with Liberty Grove Baptist Church. All Pastors and Committee Members are urged to attend.
